SUDCC is under responsibility of US Army Medical Command and brings the behavioral health providers together with the Substance Use disorder providers to stream line both programs under one command for rehabilitation and treatment. ASAP deals with drug tests, reporting, education, and unit level training. The Army recognizes that addiction diagnosis are problematic, may impact readiness, and should be treated as a behavioral health concern. Army directive 2019-12 (policy for voluntary alcohol-related behavioral healthcare) establishes policies and procedures from voluntary alcohol-related behavioral healthcare.The purpose is to provide informative and up to date substance abuse prevention training for Soldiers, leaders, Civilian employees, and other groups upon request; assist commanders and unit prevention leaders with unit based substance abuse prevention programs; and provide information and awareness to the community by promoting substance abuse prevention campaigns throughout the year. The SUDCC provides SUD care as part of a comprehensive plan to address the total BH needs.
