It could have also gone bad or perhaps it has the wrong pressure rating and is releasing pressure (coolant) at too low of a pressure. Jeep Overheating & Misfiring. My TJ (01,6cylinder,5 speed) has been having some problems, and curious about others opinions. Recently it started to run a bit hot ~215...Coolant was low so i topped it off and kept an eye on it. In the last 2 days it has reached up to 230, according to the dash gauge while under normal driving conditions.

My '99 2.5l randomly shuts off while driving. There is no warning, no bucking, no loss of engine speed or power, just shuts off as if you turn the ignition off. Battery and terminals are good, no MIL or stored codes. Does not seem like a CPS or O2 sensor issue like some of the other descriptions. I'm leaning towards PCM or ignition switch.

First thing that comes to mind is the caliper (s) might be sticking.
