Bridge mode on xfinity router.
The gateway, when put in Bridge mode, defaults to using exclusively the LAN1 port. LAN1 is a 1 gbps port. The router, however, has a 2.5 gbps port - re: LAN4 which would be better suited as the output port. I do not see any option when I log into the router to change the output port when the router is in Bridge mode.
You can't have 2 routers connected to one modem in this mode. The Xfinity gateway has two modes. Gateway mode, has WiFi enabled and passes out IP addresses to an internal network using it's built in DHCP server. It won't connect to the Comcast gateway device if it's in bridge mode. It's not a router, it's just an AP. It needs a router to connect to. The Comcast gateway in bridge mode is just a straight cable modem / layer 2 bridge. I commented on this earlier in this thread.
