However, on the 16” vs 20” question, go 20” because the 16” with Mid-Length gas has been problematic. I'm amazed that making it in a small frame patter has such a big impact on the weight. I'm curious if the barrel in this is machined using the same process as the Ruger American line up. I have a Ruger American Hunter whose barrel shoots sub-MOA, even after it gets pretty warm. Having a barrel like that in an AR-10 would be pretty awesome.

I think the RPR is better served in the bigger cartridges. Not the greatest portable bolt gun after mine was done. Sig CROSS looks like maybe something I should have done. The current 308 brass flingers. The SFAR will likely take a little modification. Mainly a different handguard to fit a rifle speed gas system. I can’t speak for the victor but Springfield guns are usually adequate. I personally believe the 716I is the best rifle you can buy for the money in the AR-308/AR-10 Battle Rifle category. I think the 716I can perform alongside its older sibling, the 716 G1 & G2 Piston guns probably to the surprise of many. The 716I may also be able to potentially shoot more accurately than the 716 due to it build type.
