If its an area I can get loads of backstabs in (basically just your average mobs that aren't bosses or special) then I put Reduvia in my off-hand and main hand Misericorde as it has a 140 crit and does stupidly high dmg from a backstab/riposte.Reduvia also has a faster cast since it skips the animation of your character cutting themselves. Reduvia being a dagger, innately has higher crit damage. Lastly, you get it super early into the game, so you could have leveled it up numerous times before you get the Ash of war.
