Hi all, I recently purchased a brand new Kimber 10mm Eclipse and have been experiencing massive FTF issues right from the start. I tried several different magazines; Kimber, MetalForm, MecGar & Tripp Cobra. I also tried several different factory ammunition brands; Sellier & Bellot, PMC Bronze, PPU (Prvi Partizan) & Remington UMC.

Have about 500-600 rounds through it, never a problem. I had a Kimber Custom TLE/RL 10mm. Like the other Kimbers that I had, they were all decent 1911's. They are definitely better, out of the box, than any Colt Govt, Combat Commander, and Delta Elite 1911's that I have ever owned. Allow the slide to move forward at full speed by pushing down on the slide stop. If the first round out of the mag feeds fine, the extractor is the problem. It has incorrect geometry, too much deflection, too much tension, or all three.

The Dan Wesson has the best fit, finish, and accuracy. The Kimber Super Carry Custom with the alloy frame and round butt gets carried most often. The Kimber Stainless Target II is my favorite 10mm. The S&W is my barbeque gun. For a $550 gun, the RIA TAC II 10mm is a fantastic buy with great fit and accuracy.

What I can tell you is to field strip and clean the gun before heading to the range.
