Yes, there is a cap. That's why it's better to tame a higher level vs a lower/mid level. It's capped, also the levels you put in from experience are a percentage of the base stat (after taming), so a tame that has a higher base stat will also get a bigger boost per level. 88 levels.Also if a mod that adds dinos is added but a dino wipe isnt done, then modded ones wont spawn until existing dinos despawn and it will be over time. 2. This cap includes both personal tames and tames owned by all tribes on that server. On PC official servers, the cap is 450. This means that between all the players and tribes on that server, there can only be 450 tamed dinos active at once.
A way around this could be by making the mutation limit dependent on the dino, allowing tribes who want to too breed higher e.g. raptors can get 40 mutations while rexes are limited to 20 mutations.
