I'm a little late to the party no doubt, but I recently got to replay the Ivalice raids and got to thinking why aren't there any Garleans in the first? As far as I'm aware both the Garleans and the Proto Garlean race had the third eye and should have existed since the Sundering, so I find it very suspicious that there's not a single one left alive in …

They seem to be big into meritocracy, they have sufficient military strength to fight off the considerable threat brought forth by the Primals, they have amazing technology that they could share with Eorzea, and they seem to bring unity and prosperity to the nations they do bring under their fold (Rhitahtyn Sas Arvina seemed to be really happy ...

And while the average Eorzean soldier is just a person with a sword, …Well I figured most Garleans we've encountered would speak some common tongue since a nation trying to conquer all the others would benefit from learning other languages. Since Latin is a huge part of their naming conventions and even the lyrical content of nael van darnus's theme I figured they would speak Latin, or something based on it.Certain legions such as the first and I think the second we're mostly Garleans because they were closer to the capitol.
