The later model 302 HO motors got the 351W firing order (1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8). Prior to that, they had a different firing order (1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8). The 302's are Windsors, regardless of firing order. I doubt it is a Cleveland motor because I only know of one firing order in that engine family, which is the same as the 351W.Look down at the balancer and using either the starter or a breaker bar, line up the marks to TDC, then recheck your rotor postion. Firing order. There is another firing order 15426378 which was for the earlier 221-302 small blocks, 351-400s all the 332-428 and all 429-460s. It is possible to swap the camshaft in the 351 from a earlier 221-302 which would change the 351's order to the earlier one. I ran into this situation many years ago with a 302 that had been rebuilt.
