It happened after my game failed to load during a quickload so I had to kill the process. After that every save for that character would crash the game after 60%. Note: I had native camera mod installed. But starting a new game worked fine with no changes to my mods etc so at first I didn't attribute it to the mod.

I fixed it by going into GOG settings -> Game features -> Overlay (uncheck box). after that i restarted the GOG client and launched the game, it loaded in a couple seconds.
