I only see 2 wires (black & brown) that go to the board and there both ground circuits. The red wire is 12 volt power line that comes from 20amp breaker. The red/black sends power to on/off kill switch which if in the on position, dash lights up. From the switch there must be some other harness they plug into.

Long story short I have no history of the quads previous runnability, but I did rebuild the carburetor with a kit. I have no previous experience with carburetors, so this is a learning curve. Also you would also need a bigger carb, unless you can find a 300 quad for cheap not really worth it, i've thought about making my 300 into a 400 but would need a complete donor quad due to it being liquid cooled.It really smokes! There is an adjustment that can be made to regulate the amount of injected oil. When I bought my 2000 Xplorer 400, I had the dealer adjust it so it gets a little more oil than is called for in the service manual.
