Try cocking smoothly then butt bounce and see if it goes off.One being a Marlin 783. Gun has been thoroughly cleaned. Not every time but occasionally, the rifle will fire when closing the bolt. Very dangerous. I wondered if the striker cam pin might be worn or not properly inserted. I have ordered a replacement from Numrich. Visually it does not seem to be worn/damaged. Safety works.
