The performance of this beast is SO far superior to my decade-old sonotube subwoofer (which is no slouch!) that its doesn't come anywhere close to being a fair comparison. It features four 15" Tempest-X drivers powered by a professional-grade 1000 watt amplifier. There is nothing wrong with an infinite baffle arrangement theoretically speaking. But, practically speaking, walls make terrible speaker enclosures. Drywall is a particularly poor performer, with a undesirable combination of low stiffness and low damping. Plus, the connection between the drywall and the studs is prone to rattles and buzzes.
