Ask for a task, giving the tools is done via three quests for each technician. you can give him only once, then you can give him advanced and expert tools. I added a crafting recipe for the Expert tools in the workbench, because I wanted a guaranteed way of obtaining the Expert Toolkit , instead of relying on RNG and having to grind for 50+ hours. It's just random chance and you're having a run of bad luck. You will find basic tools eventually. Maybe you are just unlucky, I have like 3 Basic And 3 expert. But only one (one use) advanced. Took me an age to find one too. I had two advanced, one expert, one drug kit, and several armour kits before I found my first basic.With the newest GAMMA build I rushed through a simple loner play though to unlock and try an UNISG route again. On this UNISG play through, I ended up finding Expert tools on my third green stash, first in the northern zones (Limansk). I don’t even have the advanced tools yet and I’m about 8ish hours in.It also gives you the basic tools to wander the Zone, which is nice for Ironman runs. Rebalanced close quarter combat to make knives more useful and to free even more inventory slots, yup you can equip 2 pistols and 2 main weapons and still profit from your best knife with a reworked quick melee motion and system.
