Like it had to be within 5 feet of the router on initial connection. I also found that my router needed to be freshly restarted and I had to connect the MyQ quickly just after restart. Port-forwarding, turning off various quality of life settings, disabling 5ghz, etc. Nothing worked. I finally was able to get the MyQ to connect by turning off all security and having no password.
