TLDR: Best place for tundra resources and home? The Crevice can be a fun spot if you like caves. Personally, I wouldn't build a base near star metal just to get star metal. I'd build a map room by the obelisk there and check back every so often. Of course this all depends what kind of server you're playing on.These locations have a 99.9% successful purge spawn rate. Godsclaw passage for example is ripe with resources, close to good thralls and close to an obelisk.
