I do use the electric pump successfully on my other car with zero oil left behind. On the Subi I use the Fumoto. Also use a Fumoto on my motorcycle.

Adding the drain valve was the best mod I ever did. Just slide the pan under, release the valve, drain it. Grab the filter twist it off, clean base area and thread on new filter. Close valve, wipe area. Fill oil. 20 minutes and 15 of that is letting it drain fully.
